Spring has sprung...well, at least the calendar says so. And because it does, I am slowly decorating my outside spaces for spring.
Anything I put outside needs to be able to withstand gale force winds, blizzards, rain, or hail. I do not like to invest too much in the spring porch decor because it will take a beating--thrift store decor to the rescue.
The little chair is actually from a garage sale and was too rickety for sitting, but perfect for the porch. It received a coat of yellow paint last year, and is a bit weathered, which I love.
The little greenhouse with a nest and eggs in it is from the thrift store.
I made this wall vase from pallets. It is a project in my newest book, Wood Pallet Wonders. You can buy it HERE. The flowers are from the thrift store. I am not a big fake flower fan, but they are necessary this time of year. I always look in the fake flower section at the thrift store and will only buy the best looking ones.
I wanted some color on the wicker lover seat and found this afghan for $2. I wanted something in spring colors and something light that will dry quickly if it gets wet. We probably won't cozy up underneath it, but I like the color and coziness it adds. The round sign I painted last year on a thrift store wood table top.
I will add some potted tulips to the mailbox and the tin buckets soon.
Your spring decor is so pretty, Becky! I love the wall vase and the yellow chair...so cheery!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It still looks a little bare to me, but I will add more as it warms up.
DeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteI love the wall hanging you made from pallet wood; the colors are perfect. You always inspire. (And being from Maine I get it about outdoor decor having to withstand every kind of weather in the Spring!). ~Cheryl
Thanks Cheryl! We have a colder and wetter spring predicted...sigh.
