The Great Pumpkin

"Each year, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch that he thinks is the most sincere. He's gotta pick this one. He's got to. I don't see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one. You can look around and there's not a sign of hypocrisy. Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see."--Linus from The Great Pumpkin

Well, I am not sure how sincere my pumpkin patch is (it is growing rather wildly though), but this big, barnwood pumpkin certainly is great!

I told my Facebook readers the other day that I was busy in the workshop making some of THESE pumpkin signs .

They are quick and easy to cut out, using my DeWalt Jigsaw.  And the best part, this is a two for one kind of a project.  When you cut out the front part of the sign, you have two pumpkin halves to join together.  See How To's HERE

This GREAT Pumpkin is my biggest one yet as my sign was really large.  I painted it with bright and dark orange paint,

added a scrap wood stem (with a small, skinny board on the back),

and free-handed "hello fall" on it and then finished it with stain.

This pumpkin is ready for fall, are you?

    1. Thanks Deb! It is so much easier to do the lettering with a pencil than a paintbrush, but it gets easier with practice!
