My Baby Is 7!

Sweet girl is 7 today. I tried to find a baby picture, but I wasn't digital then and my scanner isn't working. When she was born, I was sure she was going to be a boy. I had already had 3 boys, so I just assumed she was one too. I had the boy clothes in the dresser and the room ready for dinosaurs. I was so surprised when they told me it was a girl!

We had to open gifts this morning at 7 before school. She had a hunt to find her new bike (it was in the basement that is being finished). She read all of the clues by herself. We had family birthday dinner tonight and ice cream pie. My kids only get birthday parties on even years, so this was a no party year. It was a nice day--boy they do grow fast, don't they!
Tomorrow I am hitting some thrift stores and trying to work on a few projects, so check back to see what I found! Have a good Friday!

  2. Happy birthday to your sweet girl! My little boy is 7 also. Isn't that a sweet age? He will be 8 in May. I bet she loves her new bike! My friend Stevie did that to me a couple of Christmases ago. (he made me look for my gift with little notes at his mom's house...in front of everybody!) It was fun and I will never forget it.
Have fun thrifting tomorrow! I might do the same!

    Hugs,

Oh and my gift from him was a china hutch that I had seen at a flea market type store. I had gotten him to take me there to get it and it was gone. (40 miles away) Little did I know...he had already bought it and had taken it to his mom's house...another hour away. Wasn't that sweet?

  3. Happy Birthday to your daughter!! Lee Laurie told me I needed to visit your blog, that she thought I would like it....she was right. One day while we were shopping, she saw the hutch and liked it...she talked herself out from getting it...and for the next several days she couldn't stop talking about it...finally just had to have it. I loaded up the kids...while she was at work...went and got it...we had just left the store and I needed some gas. So, while I was pumping gas, she called me and asked,"What are you doing?"...I had to think fast, didn't want to get busted....I said,"Pumping gas". I told her we would be by in about an hour or so to take her lunch....she said fine. I made a 1 1/2 hour trip in about 40 minutes. The next day she was off, we just had to drive all the way back to the store to get it. She was so sad and upset that someone(ME) had already bought it. She kept saying, "I knew it...I knew it would be gone" Then she was so cute going around my mom's house reading clues and hunting for the next one. I will never forget the look on her face when she uncovered the hutch. I will always remember the smile, the sparkle in her beautiful eyes......She loved it!! Sorry for being so long....
Stop by and visit my blog,
    P.S.
I have a feeling that we will go thrifting tomorrow!
