Today is our little town's annual Fall Festival. We first attended this event when we moved here 20 years ago, before we were parents, when we were oh so young. The event always starts with a parade and the playing of the national anthem. My son was on the football float,
my daughter was on her dance school's float (that's her with the goofy wave!), and hubby (who is the assistant principal at the HS) got to get flushed--hit the target and a toilet flushed water over the victim.
Off to the homecoming game. it is a spectacular day. I love my little town's annual festival, love seeing so many wonderful people (some whom I taught 20 years ago and now are parents), love the small town feel. What makes your town special?
So fun. Great slice of Americana.
