Window Dressing

I love to dress up old window sashes with yummy, scrappy wood.  Each one is unique and has a personality all its own.  Here is my latest window dress up:
Some color and wax slapped on various scrap wood pieces,
Some fabulous original crackled paint on the window frame,
and some hooks added to make it functional.

    I really like this idea, but I'm always concerned about lead paint chipping off. How many coats of varnish do you put on to prevent this from happening? Thanks!

    THere's something kinda wonderful about "yummy, scrappy wood" . It brings richness to everything. I like this project like so many other projects I see on your blog.
