Hutch Rehab

One of my past preschool parents is a sweetie who remembers to call me when she has furniture to get rid of.  She recently text me this picture of a hutch that had belonged to her mother-in law.  They has been using it as a TV cabinet so one shelf was missing and there were holes in the back where cords had been.  Originally there were cabinet door pulls in the middle of the bottom doors, but those had been removed and wallpaper covered the insets.( Sorry--cell phone pic)
I added a new shelf,
 some beadboard on the back,
grey (when I grew up, you spelled grey with an e, so I still do!) and white paint,
some sanding and stain and new hardware on the lower half--I painted right over the wallpaper,
and this tired old hutch has a new life!

  1. It is beautiful! Love the bead board and your color choices.
I usually spell grey with an e too. Not sure where it came from but I've done it that way since I was a child.

  6. It looks great! I also spell grey with an "e" and always wondered why it was sometimes spelled with an "a".
