Vintage Game Table

When I spied a vintage folding metal game table tucked away in a corner of a small antique shop in a little Montana town I fell in love.

the colors--what's not to love?

Because the folding leg mechanism was broken, I got the table for only a few dollars.  I knew it needed to be a table again.

We (and by we I mean hubby providing the muscle while I provided the verbal "encouragement") removed the hinges, broken legs, and handle.  I wanted to keep the handle on it, but knew it wasn't going to work.

I added reclaimed wood to the sides, drilling through the table lip and using washers to secure the screws.

Legs were added, a light sanding and clear finish completed the table.  It is 5 feet long and a little over 2 feet wide, perfect for a cool drink and a game for 4 (yes I only dragged two chairs out tot he front yard for photo staging).

Dwight Eisenhower appears to have been president when the table was made which dates it to probably 58' or so.

I love the table and think I could find a place or it in the new house, but hubby thinks i should "let it go".  The table will be priced at a not letting it go easily price ;).
