Scrap Wood Art

When I made this little corner shelf for my antique booth, the store manager thought it was an art piece when she saw me bringing it in.

I thought, hmm, that would be a fun scrappy, architectural looking piece to make...so I did.

I used just one board on the back of the sunburst art (unlike the 2 I used on the shelf).

Bits and pieces of scraps--trim boards, etc. that I cut some random angles on and attached with screws created the sunburst.

I added some of my favorite paint colors, sanded them when dry, and used stain over the whole piece.

This would look great above a door or a twin bed.  It is a quick and easy project that looks like it could have been on a vintage

cottage or cabin.
