I have such a fondness for vintage picnic baskets. And while I don't collect them, I do like to find them and fix them up for re-sale.

This one was originally a natural color, but was in pretty rough shape--a little squished and a stain on the top. I painted it with Fusion Mineral paint in Fort York Red (the very best true red I have ever seen).
I then used my very favorite stencil from Funky Junk Interiors Old Sign Stencils--the buffalo check. Every time I use it, it feels like magic when I pull the stencil off and see perfect buffalo check!

A simple and super quick makeover!

What a perfect touch! Now I want to go on a picnic.... guess it worked. :)
