'Tis the season...for HEARTS! I have been working on a few projects. This reclaimed wood heart art is an oldie, but one that is always a favorite.

I start with two equal sized pieces of reclaimed barnwood that I cut half hearts out of. I add colorful scrap wood behind them, using a nail gun. I added a frame to this one and decided to paint it white. Some stain and clear coat finished the heart art.

I save the half hearts that I cut out and joined them together with thin wood scraps on the back. I painted the heart red and then sanded and stained it.
Before stenciling the heart with Funky Junk Interiors Buffalo Checked stencil HERE (check out her newest JUMBO checked stencil), I clear coated it so that the white would stay white.

I love that I get two Valentine's Day decor items from one project.
