Gosh, I am finally getting around to sharing the rest of my covered, front porch decor for spring. I styled it with yellow and green thrift store finds that helped to create a cozy and cheerful space. I treat this area as if it is another room of my home, decorating it so that it is welcoming and pueposeful.
Last summer I gave my covered front porch a makeover (we still need to redo the flooring). You can see the makeover HERE. My porch is one place where I still am using some seasonal decor, although much less than I have previously decorated with. I have created a painting for each season. My spring painting is Snowdrops.
I paint these on pieces of plywood, one on each side so I only have one to store. I paint them using only wood scraps as my paintbrushes.
I love hanging a painting on my porch, it really creates a room-like atmosphere to an outdoor space. I changed out the green metal chair on the covered porch for a wicker one that will weather better under the porch. The green metal one is sitting on my breezeway porch, which is uncovered. I liked the rattan next to the green table and on the other porch I have a green chair next to a rattan table.
The yellow pillows I made for my fall porch from a thrifted tablecloth. I will use them for both spring and fall. The yellow trug or wood basket is a reproduction that we sold at the antique store I worked out for $40 or $50. I bough this one at the thrift store for $4. Right now it is holding my dog's yard stake.
I shared how to make the mushroom HERE. The copper watering can is from a garage sale and the wood lantern is from the thrift store.
The amber, hanging, glass candleholder is a recent thrift store find. I love the color of the glass. It holds a citronella candle and gives off a lovely glow on warm evenings.
The yellow and green is so cheerful and sunny. The porch will keep it's spring attire until the end of May, when I will add the red touches I used last year.
There is not a single item on my front porch that I paid retail for. Everything is either from a garage sale, thrift store, or something foraged or created.
