Why I Blog

As I shared a few days ago, I have been blogging for 5 years now.  Wow, five years has gone by quickly and many things have changed in that five years.

But, the thing that hasn't changed is the why part of blogging.  I started a blog because I was inspired by so many other bloggers and I wanted to do the same.  I wanted to share my ideas with the hopes that someone else would see them and think, "Hey, i can do this!"

I appreciate it when you share pictures of creations you have made that were inspired by something you saw here on the blog.

Monica did just that when she emailed me these pictures of a potting bench that her father and her family made for her sister and brother-in-law after their baby girl died.  Monica's family blessed them with a yard makeover.
This story is close to my heart as most of you know, we too had a baby that died.

Didn't they do a beautiful job?
Thank you Monica for sharing, for letting me know that blogging is not in vain and that God can use something like a blog to bless others.

  1. I too know this heartache, and while this gift will never take away their pain, a calm, beautiful space will give them a place to reflect and hopefully help their hearts to heal.

My son would have been 20 this year.

  2. They did do a beautiful job. I am sorry for the loss of all your loved ones. Thank you for sharing that with us Becky. You have taught me a lot on your blog...and yours is one of the blogs that inspired me to blog for the same reason...to maybe give that inspiration to others. I guess in a "pay it forward" kind of way. So, Thank you!

  3. Becky what a precious and beautiful post. I personally have experienced God divine love through my blog and the relationships that have been made. Thank you for sharing your heart pain and loss with us.

  4. What a great story, god bless them, and god bless you for sharing your story and for all you the wonderful posts and blogging that you put your heart and soul into! I don't think you should ever wonder if it is in vain because if it helps you or even just one other person then it is serving it's purpose! You are very inspiring to many I am sure of that! I have bragged about your blog to lots of people as well as made many projects from this fantastic blog!! I love all of your things! I have made tons of projects similar to yours as well as just gotten lots of tips and inspired me to be creative and put my own spin on it! Thank goodness other people love them too and buy my pieces or my house would end up on a special episode of "beyond the picket fence hoarders." Again thank you for sharing this wonderful story and yours as well.

  5. How nice that your idea can bring some joy to others during such a heartbreaking time. I'm sure there are so many more than you know who have been touched by your sharing of your creative ideas.

  6. Wow that bench is amazing, it must be really nice to see pieces that you have helped inspire x
