Hello, and welcome to the Hometalk.com and CountryLiving.com Christmas Home Tour and Blog Hop. Settle in with a mug of something warm and yummy because there are many wonderful homes and Christmas ideas to see.
Decorating a new home for the holidays for the first time is a fun challenge. You no longer have all those set places where your favorite Christmas decor goes, you need different decor and need to have the ol' thinking cap on to make it all work in a new space.
I enjoyed the challenge, and along with the decorating a new home challenge, I have been busy creating new things for my winter woodland theme.
In the next week or two I will share more details and how-tos for some of what you see.
I changed out my L's for H's on my gallery wall so it says ho-ho-ho. I also added a few Christmas signs and photos.
A bowl of lights and pinecoes smell delicious with some do terra holiday essential oil sprinkled on the pinecones.
The stockings are hung by the chimney with care.
We bought a new tree after Christmas last year. Had we known we would be buying a new house with 12 foot ceilings we would have bought taller than 7 1/2'. I put the tree up on an old wagon to give it some height.
I made simple wreaths for the 80 year old windows in my great room.
And, my Christmas dishes are set.
I made a garland for the library rails and added a few Christmas photos and items to the bookshelves.
My kitchen door that leads to the mudroom.
I have two porches to decorate. The front porch is seldom used because there is no walkway to it (yet), so I kept it simple.
And the breezeway porch that connects the garage and mudroom.
Thank you for visiting my blog and taking my home tour. Now check out all the other homes.

ReplyDeleteSo homey and comfy-cozy! I've always wanted to live in an old schoolhouse. There are lots of empty ones in northwestern WI where I live. But I love my old farmhouse, too!
