Fusion Mineral Paint Giveaway

*THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.*
Thank you all for your positive responses to my painted cupboards (SEE HERE).
Fusion Mineral Paint Giveaway
I completely forgot to include some pertinent information, sorry!
(I was given free product. However, the opinions are completely my own.)

Fusion Mineral Paint Giveaway
Here are some more details. Stay tuned to the bottom of this post to see how YOU can win some FREE FUSION MINERAL PAINT!

What colors did you use on your cabinets?
I used Putty on the top and Midnight on the bottom cupboards.

Did you prime the cupboards before painting?
I did not! I was thinking I might have to prime the upper cupboards because they were a dark cherry color and Putty is a light color and cherry stain can bleed. BUT, I am happy to say the Fusion Mineral Paint covered the dark color well. I filled the old cabinet holes, lightly hand sanded for 30 seconds per door with 220 grit sandpaper, and cleaned the cupboards with TSP.

How much paint did you use?
I have a lot of cupboards and a tall pantry cupboard. I used 2 pints, yep one quart total of the midnight on the lowers and the pantry. On the uppers I used about one and a half pints.

How many coats of paint did you need?
The bottom cupboards received what I would call one and a half coats of the midnight. Honestly, one coat of the dark paint covered the cherry stain perfectly, but I I gave it a second light/sparse coat just for good measure. I needed two coats of the Putty color on the upper cabinets.

Did you put a finish over the paint?
The answer for now is NO! I do have some of the tough coat top coat. It says that it can get cloudy on dark colors. I did put it on the cabinets on my kitchen island because this is where my stove is and where I do a lot of prep. But, in the corners where there is detail on the doors, it did dry cloudy. I decided to paint over the tough coat with one more coat of paint. I am waiting to see how they hold up to decide if I want to use the tough coat on the lighter colored upper cabinets. So far so good. My pantry and kitchen island cupboards have been painted for a month and they are doing great--not a single issue and I have washed them when my cooking gets a little crazy. Fusion Mineral paint has a built in finish--that is the wonderful thing about this paint. The very first tables I painted with it (HERE) look the same as the day I painted them, and my kids have never heard of a coaster.

Can you see brushstrokes?
NO! My brother-in-law was here this past weekend and he is quite the DIYer and he could not believe how smooth the finish is, with absolutely no brushstrokes! I used a soft bristle rounded brush. The microfiber roller gives you a very clean look, but honestly, I did not know that until after I had painted my cupboards. I do know the microfiber roller is currently out of stock (or it would be part o the giveaway). Fusion Mineral Paint gives you a lovely, clean finish. You do not have to sand it to make it smooth and you don't have to feel like you have to distress it like you do with some chalk paints.
