Today's project idea came from the need to fill a hole on my gallery wall. I knew I wanted something circular, like a wreath, something that had a simple, organic look, and something with some size. After hunting around my house for items to use, I came up with this:
I started with wire wreath rings or forms. The previous owners left about 100 of these in the our basement storage room--you can get the at a craft store or (affilate link) HERE.
I picked three sizes that I liked together. I had hoped to find some white, fuzzy yarn in the yarn bin to wrap the rings in, but didn't. I did find some cotton clothesline. I started by hot gluing the clothesline to the largest ring.
I found the easiest and quickest way to wrap it was to stand the ring up and wrap it, letting the clothesline to hang to unwind. I hot glued it in about four places on the ring just to make sure it was secure. It did take almost 90 minutes to wrap all three rings.
I wired the rings together and then added some fake pine branches and berries.
At first I hung it with the greenery at the top, hut it had the look of a roping rope and I wasn't going for a western look.
So, I turned it, and adjust the greenery. To hang it I used an existing screw on the wall and I did use a sewing pin through the ribbon to keep it hanging how I wanted.
I like the large size and the simple look.
I had fun decorating the picture ledges I made last year (HERE), using fresh greens and Santa pictures I blew up.
