I tend to buy furniture and larger decor items when I am thrifting. But, sometimes smaller items catch my eye, especially if they are vintage or a certain color. I gathered some of those items, working with a ROYGBIV rainbow theme and a thrift store wood box and
The objects I used are fun, whimisical, nothing overly valuable, and vintage. I arranged them in a red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple pattern.
I stained the box and then glued the objects in place. They include old game pieces, vintage tins, an old roll of Kodak film, a small purple book.
I hung this on a small wall space that is at the bottom of our loft library stairs. I added other old games--a broken pin ball game, an old wood pool ball triangle, a Chinese Checkers game, and a wood badminton racket.
The art ads some much needed color and the objects are interesting to look at.
We have more home improvement and changes in front of us, so this is a temporary game gallery wall. But, the vintage items and the color are a bright addition to my walls.
Keep your eyes open for colorful small items and create your own found object art!
