The deal was--all dead animals belong in the garage.
Needless to say, hubby was amused the other day when he saw what I was hanging in our great room--shed antlers that my son found on a hike.
And to be honest, I am still trying to figure out how antlers fit into my style, which appears more and more to be quite eclectic. Today I am calling my style farmhouse, industrial, rustic, boho chic. I am sure that is a thing!
To make this I started with a gorgeous piece of reclaimed wood. This piece was all but falling apart so I glued all the nooks and crannies on the back and clamped it together.
I found the middle of the board
and taped it off and painted one half with Fusion Paint in Matthew Mead's Studio Metallic copper color (I am so bad about keeping my paint containers clean!)
I am in love with this copper paint that I had to paint this little wood bowl too.
When the paint was dry I taped the copper side off and stained the wood side.
I hung some keys from the antler--keys to the heart for Valentine's Day.
The copper paint, the beauty of the natural wood,
and the rustic antlers make me smile. Whatever my style is, this speaks to me and is worth breaking the "marriage contract"!
