12 Days of Christmas Ideas Day 5 Bingo Card Christmas Trees

12 Days of Christmas Ideas

I love vintage games and when I spied this BINGO set (that also included about 100 extra cards from other sets) for $2 at the thrift store, I knew it had to come home with me.

"What are you going to do with all those bingo cards?" was hubby's question. My reply was, "I don't know, but I will think of something."
(Last year I made THESE.)

The green colored BINGO cards inspired this project as I decided that would make cute Christmas trees.

For each tree you will need 8 BINGO cards. Free-hand draw half a tree along the straight edge on the back of a bingo card. Put two cards together face to face and cut out the half tree shapes. Repeat until you have 16 pieces or 8 back to back pieces. I flipped the cards over so I could get two half trees cut from each cards. Use white glue or a glue stick to glue the two BINGO cards together, back to back.

Use a stick, dowel, or thick skewer for a trunk. Hot glue the eight tree halves to the trunk. I glued four pieces opposite each other first and then added the two other halves to each side.

I hot glued a red bingo marker to the top. The makers would make cute ornaments too, but I am keeping it simple. The trees would also be cute with glitter either just on the edges or all over.

The trees need a base--I used an old wood spool and a little floral foam in a jello mold. They would be cute in mugs, glass spice bottles filled with fake snow (use some hot glue to secure), or in a wood block.

You can make them different heights and shapes and create an entire BINGO Christmas tree forest.
