Every year I enjoy putting together a centerpiece for my Christmas table.
Last year we switched from a large farmhouse table, to a smaller round one (with leaves). The smaller table means my centerpieces cannot be too large. I think centerpieces need a few key elements: height, light, and something easy to move.
I started with a few thrift store finds: mugs and other containers and a silver tray.
The past few years copper has been the metal color of choice at Christmas for me, but this year I am switching back to silver. I love tarnished silver--has so much warmth and age to it and this tray was perfect.
I used a vintage, green, Fire King mug, a tall, red plaid mug,
a wood "shotglass", a restaurant soup cup, and a small crock for my tree containers.
(affiliate links) I added bottle brush trees to the thrift store containers. The larger are from Target, and the others I had (see similar HERE).
I used a string of battery-operated mini lights. There were not as many lights on it, so I think I will get one more string (similar HERE).I added some fake snow to the tray, covering up the battery pack, and a few small Christmas balls.
This inexpensive centerpiece is perfect for our round table.

I love this idea, I'm totally copying you! Plus it gives me an excuse to go to the thrift store!
