I am prepping to take over the front display in June at the Antique Barn where I have a booth. I decided on a campy/cabin theme and have been having fun finding and creating rustic items for the display.
This easy-to-build, rustic shelf made from reclaimed fence boards will fit my theme perfectly.
Hubby scored a few free fence boards, and I knew they were just right for a simple wall shelf.
The shelf measures 30" wide and 24" tall. It is very easy to put together, simple straight cuts and 1 5/8" screws.
I set a 2"x 4" under the board that the hooks are on when I screwed the board in from the sides of the shelf. This made it so that this board was not set back so far so that the hooks would be easier to access.
I sanded the wood (actually before putting the shelf together) and then use Minwax polyacrylic over all of it to bring out the natural beauty.
How versatile your rustic shelf would be in any room, even kitchen, love shelf as I do all your projects. What you are is one talented lady. Love finish you applied to this shelving unit.
