Rustic Farmhouse Hutch

When I spied this cupboard at the thrift store for a great price, I grabbed it.

Originally I thought I would make it into a kitchen island. But, after looking at more closely, I saw that it was taller than a typical island height and fairly narrow. That is when I realized it was probably the bottom of a hutch and that I could give would make a great rustic farmhouse hutch.

I painted it red and added new, chunky metal handles. I left the top natural wood.

I then made a hutch top from reclaimed wood. I didn't get great pictures because it got loaded into to the truck and taken to the antique place where I have a booth.  The back of the hutch top has some fantastic reclaimed wood on it.

I love how it turned out, the red is so festive this time of year and it has a perfect rustic farmhouse feel.

    2. Another beautiful furniture recovery. I see that you are already decked out for Christmas in your vintage booth. I have been doing a turnover in my vintage booth Monday & Tuesday, hope to finish up today. Your cabinet is a great centerpiece to your holiday collections!

    3. Yes, in retail you have to start the Christmas decorating early. But, I love it and the season goes so quickly, I don't mind the early decor. Thank you!
