I have so enjoyed simplifying my decorating since we moved into our new home. Don't get me wrong, I love to decorate and design still. But, I am enjoying making simple changes to my basic items to add a touch of seasonal decor without going crazy with a lot of things that I will need to store and then decide each year if I still like it or if I am just going to use it because I have it.
This simple embroidery hoop wreath is a perfect example of an easy, simple change up.
I first shared this in the fall when I first made it and it looked like this:
And then for Christmas I added more pine cones and pine branches to it.
It has been sitting empty since Christmas decorations came down. I decided to add a little winter to it.
I found a few branches in my garage from the wine boughs. I hot glued the twigs together in the pattern I liked.
Using some of the big, fluffy yarn I used at Christmas, I wrapped the branches.
I like the white, cozy yarn for winter.
I added some yellowy moss covered branches from my yard.
I like the organic, rustic look.
This change took me about 15 minutes, used items I have, and when winter is over, the yarn will come off of them and the branches will go in the burn bin.
Create and decorate with items that you easily add to or change seasonally and see how it feels to keep it simple.
