I was puttering in the workshop the other day, waiting for paint to dry and unsure of what I wanted to build. I grabbed some pallet boards and made a simple rectangle (similar to this one). From there, I created a simple, rustic, side table.
I didn't do a tutorial on this, but after creating a rectangle, I added pallet 2 X 4 legs.
I then found some lovely hardwood scraps that I had and used them for the top.
I secured two boards lengthwise to the inside of the legs and then screwed through this to attach the table top.
I painted the base BEFORE I added the top. I then stained it all and finished it with clear wax.
It is simple, and sturdy. I have a few of these "sitting areas" in my great room.
The sitting spaces are a good way to keep extra dining room chairs nearby and just a nice place to sit for a bit and enjoy a cup of coffee or read--having a table nearby is perfect.

Simple, but cute & very functional. Love the teal color too. Real nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It is heavy duty too with the hardwood on top.
